To Phila by Megabus

Beautiful sleep and many thanks to be guests of the Military for these two nights. We left before 9 with the Hout's who'd been serenaded for much of the night with a noisy party overhead! We felt guilty to have slept well. It had rained and was a bit cooler as we made our way to Union Station - a beautiful building full of lovely shops and lots of eating places. The main part of the building was damaged in an earthquake in 2011 and the repairs will take until 2016. (The Washington Monument was also damaged in that 'quake, and it  is covered in rather tasteful scaffolding, if you can imagine such a thing!) The Union Station foyer is 750 feet long and they reckon the W.M. could fit inside it on its side!!
We found the Megabus departure point and said farewell to David and Carmel, Lachlan and Grace. They have given us a wonderful experience and opportunity to see so much.
We've had planes, gondolas, chair lifts, lovely automobiles, and now this smooth bus. (The boat and train are still to come). Our dear friend whom we are going to see now is very ill and in hospital. A friend of hers has made plans to get us to see Grace and get us around so we are really thankful. We will probably not have wifi now for a couple of days so will catch you up on things en route to Boston on our Wednesday. We're actually looking forward to some downtime in Philly too.
