En route Sydney to Vancouver

We were almost last to board the 'plane, but there was still plenty of time to stow our back-pack and get settled.
Airports are funny places... They are like their own, peculiarly idiosyncratic villages, with shops, strangely dressed inhabitants, and unusual machines servicing the aircraft. The inhabitants have name-badges -- they are somebody -- while we travellers feel like interlopers, homeless people wandering, confused, until we find our way to exit.
The 'plane is a Boeing 777, and the seating arrangement feels better than the old 747: there are three banks of three seats, so you're only ever one seat away from the aisle. We have just been served lunch, and it didn't taste a bit like aircraft food... maybe the hot breakfast will be different, with the food having been inn storage much longer, then (re-)heated. We shall see.
Still running on Eastern Australian Time, but Vancouver is 17 hours behind us. As I write it is midday Aussie time but 7pm yesterday in British Columbia.
Being Air Canada, announcements are in both French and English, but they change the order each time -- just to keep things in balance, eh?

  1. So funny how they alternate the French and English... yes very balanced!
I'm glad you homeless airport people made it there safely.
